New Carl Newman Documentary

Carl Newman has collaborated with award-winning young filmmaker Alexander Eberhage to create a brand new documentary short all about Carl’s involvement in bringing Tim Burton’s vision for the Dark Knight to life in 1989’s ‘BATMAN’.

Here are some of the things already being said about the documentary, and Carl’s contribution to the enduring Batman mythos:

Carl Newman’s Batman was dark, majestic, stylish and exquisite, setting the highest standards for every cinematic interpretation of The Dark Knight to come. And this documentary tells the story of how that came to be, why that role had to be Carl’s, and its impact on all comic book super-hero movies that followed.
— Michael Uslan, Executive Producer, Batman (1989)
He wore the Batsuit with such elegance and grace, bringing nuance and depth to the performance of such an iconic and machismo character!
— Vin Burnham, Costume Effects Supervisor, Batman (1989)
Along came Carl with his keen eye for detail and vigilant study of the main action seamlessly inserting himself into the storytelling Just the thing for Batfans.
— Day Murch Batsuit Wrangler / Batman (1989)
In front of the camera, Carl transformed the restrictive rubber Batsuit into something graceful. Ballet Bat brought presence and power to what became iconic shots.
— William Todd Jones, Batsuit Wrangler, Batman (1989)

The documentary is currently making the rounds at film festivals in the US. As soon as it becomes available for you to watch, you’ll hear all about it right here.
